Read more.Enjoy the spring weather and the entire extended weekend to the fullest! We’ve got several great suggestions for Easter getaways. Head out on excursions across the Czech Republic and clear your mind with a refreshing Easter stay in Bohemia or Moravia.

How do you recharge after a busy week? The awakening outdoors is a guaranteed mood booster for the entire extended weekend. Will you go for a vigorous hike to find the last snow patches, or take a relaxed route through vineyards? Here are some great spots to explore.
Even during Easter, you can still encounter snow patches in the Krkonoše and experience mountains in all their glory. Consider hiking Sněžka or visiting Špindlerův Mlýn, where you can also enjoy Easter markets.
Glacial lakes, ancient primeval forests of Boubín, or upland plateaus – all can be found in the Šumava National Park. Visit the deer at Kvilda visitor center or wolves at the Srní center for a refreshing energy boost.
If you're after gentler hills than those in the Giant Mountains or Šumava, head to the wine regions of South Moravia. The Dunajovice Hills or Děvín may not be as high, but their charm is unmatched. After your excursion, enjoy a wine tasting or other gourmet events. During Easter, reliable picks include Mikulov, Vranov, or Valtice.
Home to numerous caves, karst formations, sinkholes, and the famous Macocha Abyss. In the Moravian Karst, less than an hour from Brno, you'll find plenty to fill the entire extended weekend. Explore natural formations, admire the nearby Rájec nad Svitavou Castle, or visit the ostrich farm in Doubravice.
Zoos offer engaging programs for both children and adults. During Easter, most of them prepare something special.
The Zlín Zoo features Easter tours of the adjacent Lešná Castle. Outdoors, you’ll see lion cubs, and if lucky, kangaroo moms with joeys in the kangaroo enclosure. Indoors, there are plenty of attractions, and at the Ray Bay you can touch and feed marine rays.

The Easter celebrations continue at the Zoo on Svatý Kopeček – expect Easter workshops and presentations of Easter traditions from around the world. Plus, of course, the animals themselves: spring enclosures now feature bears awoken from hibernation and even camel or giraffe calves.
Like Zlín, Zoos in Liberec, Jihlava, or Prague also join the celebration with craft demonstrations and Easter traditions alongside new animal arrivals.
Get even closer to traditional craftsmanship at historical fairs held at castles and chateaux, where you can feel history come alive. Many Czech and Moravian monuments open their gates and even offer special tours for Easter.
Want to enjoy Easter in the capital city? Prague offers a range of events you won’t want to miss. The traditional Easter markets at Old Town Square run from April 5 to 27, 2025. Expect authentic craft demonstrations, cultural programs beneath decorated birch trees, and of course, traditional Easter treats. Also worth visiting are the Ethnographic exhibitions at the National Museum or the playful tours. Food lovers should check out the special Easter menu at Ctěnice Château area or the gourmet spring menu at Restaurant Talíř in central Prague.
Other cities are brimming with Easter-themed programs too: visit the Easter fair in Český Krumlov’s square, the ossuary in Kutná Hora, charming spa towns in Western Bohemia, or the festivities at Freedom Square in Brno.
